Workshops, Wisdom, and Shared Journeys

Casa Suaya Community Workshops – La Esperanza
Living roots that strengthen rural community life
🌱 A shared learning space
At Casa Suaya, we continuously develop a community-based learning space focused on strengthening rural life and caring for the land. Through open and free workshops, we encourage the exchange between traditional knowledge and everyday practices that support family and community well-being.
The workshop approach is designed around the Kichwa language, music, everyday cooking, and knowledge of native medicinal plants, understood as living foundations for cultural transmission, health, and care of the territory. These spaces are conceived with flexibility, allowing additional workshops and areas of knowledge to be incorporated over time, according to community interests and capacities.
The gatherings aim to make better use of locally available foods, improve family nutrition, support healthy growth in children, and promote respectful and attentive care for older adults.
Participation of community elders and knowledge holders is encouraged, creating opportunities for them to share their understanding of the identification, cultivation, care, and responsible use of native medicinal plants, strengthening their living presence in homes and across the landscape.
Each workshop is an opportunity to strengthen family life, gain practical tools for everyday well-being, and collectively explore more conscious and supportive ways of facing life’s challenges.
